I have been considering using BP Ultimate diesel in my TD5 discovery. It is supposed to be better for the engine and better MPG. Does anybody else use premium diesels in their Landy's??

I suspect i woud be wasting my money.

Tricky call this one - and you'll get as many opinions as there are days in the week.

I had a Golf GTI diesel until recently. I tried BP Ultimate diesel but could never detect a difference in consumption or power.

However I felt that it was probably a better quality and cleaner burning - which made me feel better.

In a TD5 I'd save the difference and put the money towards your ECU loom replacement for when it gets contaminated with oil.

i use 600 to 800 pound a week in diesel as i drive a 40 ton rig anyway look at the prices bp ultimate is about 98.9 per/l
normal diesel is about 92.9 per/l
your still paying for the extra miles if wat they say is true
