As I corner my 300tdi 110 one way to the left, (or anti clockwise for those of you watching in black and white) every so often there is the sensation the thing moved a couple of inches to the outside. I've tried to repeat it and had some success but can't replicate it every time. If I hold a steady line round a corner, then accelerate a bit (obviously it's not taking off like a grey hound) it feels like the back end "clunked" across a gouge in the road which wasn't there.

Bushes?

A frame ball joint? trailing arm bushes? at a push shock bushes? thats all you have holding the rear axle in place so it has to be one of em, also worth checking your wheel bearings.

Good luck

I'd start by making sure your wheel nuts are tight, and the correct ones for the wheels, then work your way in from there.

so its not the wheel nuts or bearings, and I can't see a problem with any of the bushes except they are not poly and the Lump has 170 k on the clock. Its not conceivable they haven't been changed before now but maybe they are just getting baggy.....it happens to everything over a certain age.

Has someone fitted a detroit to the back of your motor without you knowing??? :D
