I reckon my speedometer reads in KMP, not MPH as the 100 is on the outside(big numbers) and the 60 is on the inside(small numbers)
So, assuming i have a 'foreign' spec speedo, are those 33822 units miles or kilometers?
I do apologise for the state of the speedo but i haven't got around to organising a visit by a valet yet :)

Yup you are right.. quite normal for country which uses KpH over MPH. Not sure but I had a UK Series3 and it was the same.

It's a 101 ambulance. At the moment undrivable due to the brakes. Thinking about it, i've 'driven' it around the block a couple of times and it's gone up by 3 Mile-ometers, so it's probably recording kilometers.
Which will be cool as it will have gone less far๐Ÿค” than i thought.
If it is, what do i change to make it record miles and not kilometers? The speedo might be the same as a standard Series 3 so i could swap the dial over but would i need to change something in the gearbox that turns the speedo cable or is it a speedo clock recalibration job?
Isn't there a worm drive in the gearbox? Could it be there are two sorts? Miles and kilometers?
I wouldn't mind but according to my records, 72GJ27 lived in UK apart from nipping out to Iraq with the Gurkhas for a year.
In fact, it spent more time parked at Ashchurch than zooming about making NEE-NAR noises!

That odometer is in Kilometres, they always match the major scale of the speedometer, which is marked as Km/h
Edited to add:-
The speedo drive will be the same, only the speedo / odometer head will need to be changed.
The speedo is already calibrated to indicate the speed in MPH & Km/h, only the odometer calibration will be different (number of internal revolutions per digit increment) for miles.
Quite how you go about validating to DVLA the change in indicated distance travelled, I have no idea.

As long as the needle is bouncing considerably more when accelerating, then I wouldn't worry. Military vehicles tend not to read accurate due to shock of driving on the tarmac roads being new idea.
Been there many times hypnotized by the needle achingly close to 25mph.๐Ÿฅด๐ŸŽ‡
