Hey guys ... would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Had the P38 (2001 DHSE) up on the bay of fleas for a while now and apart from lots of watchers - there has been no substantive interest.

Started of at 6k which I appreciate was ambitious but have taken it down to 4800 which i think is not much for a whole lot of car.

The cars also in the for sale section on here - with a listing of the specs - need to move it on but don't want to let it go for a song - I have spent quite a bit on it.

Any thoughts from the gurus here on what I am doing wrong? Or is it just bad timing and too mild a winter??

Cheers

So it's a p38, 2001 it is in co2 rated tax at a guess, we are in a financial crisis and fuel is exepensive-glad mine went years ago

the problem is where you are listing it, everyone wants a bargain on ebay if you want it to reach sensible money you need to list it on autotrader and pistonheads.
i trade in cars as another sideline to my proper job and whilst i would buy from ebay i would only sell on autotrader or pistonheads in order to get the price i want.

I'd agree with that, eBay is pikeyville for cheap cars and the odd rarity.

For a general but nice car such as yours, Autotrader or Pistonheads is the only way to go.

FWIW, I'd say £4,500 is about right for yours without seeing pics and spec.

Ebay works better if you stick it on at a starting price of say £500 and fix a sensible reserve. Peeps get carried away bidding, sold a Nissan Xtrail and an FJR Yam that way and got good prices for both.:) By the by I bought a late 2000 DHSE 3 years ago for £4850, 82K on the clock and FSH so you may be being a bit optimistic.

Got the reduced asking price ... :) - was sad to see her drive away but I think she has gone to a good home where she will be cared for.
