We didn't today.
Myself in my 110 with 2 of my kids and Clivees in his Series 2a went out for some laning south of Farnham. After a few nice lanes we dived down what looked like a very short lane on my old map. It was short in horizontal distance but not in vertical. I think the countour lines should have warned me first. But after 50 metres and 1 large step there was no going back. This was very steep slippery down hill with 6 or 7 large steps one of which bent my rear tow hitch up.:screaming_bug_eye_f
There was no way we would have done this lane if we had walked it first. Scared the life out of me and the boys. Handbrake on, first gear low and difflock and it still slid down the hill. The drops off the steps were metal crunching.

Damn good fun on a dirtbike though :D

Here are the photos.

Well this is all you bent Patman - you and your kids are ok and that's what really matters.
I take it you and Clive will carry spare underwear in future?

.

Yup a few scratches and the bent tow hitch. It amazes me what a standard 110 and series 2a are capable of without spending a load of dosh on lift kits and expensive wheels and tyres etc.

There was a kids potty in the boot if we needed it.... and we nearly did a few times!

Sounds like yu had a good run there, Pat & Clive. Pity I couldn't have been with you. Outlaws were here tho. Can't wait for Tufftee to be be back i
ont tracks :)

I think your Tuftee whould have shat itself at the drops and steepness that we drove onto. Hopefully doing a run at Salisbury Plain this week.

Nar - Tufftee goes where other Landies fear to tread. :D

not so the driver - permanent state of blue funk :crutch: :pound:

oh thats qite a good little lane that one isnt it, although most people go UP it first.

And a disco with a broken rear half-shaft can only get halfway up!

Looks like good fun. Let me know if you go again, I'm not far from you guys. I'll bring me mountain bike too. :D

I doubt any standard off roader can go up it, with 2 steps over 2 feet high and loose mud and rocks all over it. I've done it in the past on my TTR250 dirtbike but most of time I was holding on for dear life and bouncing up the rocks and steps.
Good lane but nothing near it to make it part of a loop for Landies.

last i remember theres plenty near it. all devils punchbowl hindhead, then going up towards frensham common and a few other good ones around
we did it in my mates 110. Thinking about going there soon in my 90 to try it

When I say nothing near it I mean within 2 minutes and 1 road away ;)
Frensham was nice on Saturday but loads of walkers as usual. The Devils Punchbowl is open again but the A3 traffic makes it damn near impossible to safely get accross for the second half of that lane. All hail the new tunnel!

Found a very nice pub for lunch as well.
