Hi everyone, im new to the forum and have not been around the landy scene for about 18yrs, (been playing on race bikes!) I'm looking at buying myself a disco V8, but i'd like to shorten it a little (bobtail). What i want to know is, does the disco have an aluminium body same as the landrover 90/110 or is it steel?

well not all ally james, the roof is steel and so is the rear door. be careful r1 dazza, only parts of a disco are ally but you can still bobtail them.its a bit more difficult than bobbing a 110 or a rangie.but if you do it right it can look the dogs danglies

If the sides are ally then how do you join them? Has anyone on the forum done a bobtailed Disco? A step by step guide posted on the forum would be great, we would all find out how easy/hard it would be. If i get time then i might call round to see Guy Smith, he only lives down the road from me and has been playing with off roaders for years, if anyone can shed some light on this subject the he will. keep you all posted guys.

It actually looks better with 6 inches taken out of the back section too. Just a subtle difference but looks better and more balanced dont you think? Much better departure angle.
Sorry..I obviously dont have anything better to do eh?
