I've just bought a new alternator for Ruby... she has a 65amp and the new one is 70amp.

Any issues likely with the new one overcharging or any thing like that?

No. The Amps just reflects the 'speed' at which the alternator can recharge the battery.

Oh good... it's a shame the old one works well but the bearings are on the way out, so I've bought a new one (£59 from Landrover Parts . com)

Chers guy's

An extra 5 amps wont cause any problems.
Take your old one apart and get the numbers of the bearings, then go to a bsl, swan bearings etc and get another pair, then you'll have a spare.

agreed, recon the spare as well and tuck it on the shelf with a bit of spray in a sealie bag to keep dry.
