Anyone out there know how much DCv an alternator on a 300 tdi should be putting out and what amps .Mine is putting out 13 dcv which Im sure aint enough!

should be around the 14v mark and the output depends on what alternator you have as it could be upto 75 amps

14.3 - look in the Q's and A's section for the alternator checking fred - or get it tested at yo local garage.

Ta very much , Ill have a look 2morrow its too dark now and theres wolves in these here mountains so i dont dare go out after dark!! specialy after some dirty spick poisond me faithful hound !!

problem solved. aint electrickery a sod ?
a loose earth from the starter motor to th bell housing was the major source of the prob and a completely knackered battery was the other.
new 100 amp battery and all earths checked .14 .5 dcv and 75 amps so i is now a hapy chap
