hi there ive re_built the top end of my engine after a cam-belt failure ,the only problem im having is the baterry warning light is on the dash and the alternator is making a rough bearing sound there was never no promlem with it prior to this,it is defanatly charging as i can start it up remove the battery and turn the lights heaters and it runns fine ta shaun
 
If its rumbling the bearings are probably knackered.
You can get all the parts to rebuild it of e bay search A127

the rubbeling noise has stragley disapeared,the like wires i replaced all the spade conetors ,and still no joy,i may have to do abit ov wire tracking back
 
You really need to know what voltage it's putting out! As it can produce some but not enough to put the light out! Have you got the wires all going to the correct places! Have you trapped the loom in the head? Or something else? Lots of options. If you un plug the ignition feed lo it (small wire) the light should go out, earth it it should come on. If it don't go out you've done something wrong;)
