Can anyone please post some information / photos how to go about tightening my alternator belt?
It has been making a squealing noise for a couple of days and now the battery warning light has come on. It is still charging the battery but I would like to get it sorted

If viscous fan still fitted its an arse, if no fan 5 minute job
Disco or Def engine?

Just thought I would update you. I had forgotten about this post.
About a week after I originally placed this post the squeaking disappeared but the battery light came on.
The engine was getting slower to start and lights getting dimmer etc.
When I eventually took it to my mate to have a look over he pulled several 'unessential wires' from the alternor and now it works as good as new.

Cheap 5 minute fix.

I put the viscous fan back in last year to keep things more 'standard'. It really does make things difficult

Ran mine for 4 years with no viscous unit fitted, elec fan only needed when worked really hard at slow speed off road and even then it takes a while for the temp to climb.
