does anyone have a vid of thier or any old defender 110 fairly gently rolling onto its roof?

weighing up the possibility of a roll cage but its lots of pennies, and i dont go that extreme very often. just wondered if generally it would survive a roll over situation? i know the roof is only good for like 75kg or something pathetic like that but its spread over the whole surface so thought maybe..........??????

its a van by the way, no windows in the side

These guys do an internal H type cage similar to what you would have in a banger racer. At £195 it aint a bad price. It's meant for the 110csw but I don't see any reason it can't go into a 110 van.

I lied. They've now progressed to an actual cage type structure

I had been thinking the same for some time and although I do not really need a roll cage, I decided to get one fitted on the basis that although it is not cheap, it is far cheaper that having to replace my landy if it did roll for any reason and also this does not take account of any damage you could do to yourself!!

Another reason for getting it fitted is that it also protects the structure of the vehicle a bit more when green laning, particularly given just how overgrown many of the lanes in this area have become - I have a fully external cage.

I have only just had it fitted (this weekend), went up to Whitbread Offroad (good bunch of guys!!) in West Wales for them to supply and fit the cage. Well worth the money...

That needs a diagnal to make it any good

It'd be easy enough to do and for very little additional cost. At £200 I rekon it's reasonably priced compared to most of the other roll cage manufacturers.

cheers for the input guys, im still looking around, would like full external if i can afford it.
if i go full external should i be able to tip it on its side to work on the under belly?? and will a full cage take a few rolls? or is it more a 1 hit life saver type thing?

DTd5 would u have any pics of the new cage? think i may go down the same route

Not got any photo's yet, still need to get some sorted when its light!!

However, have a look at the following web site which shows what I got:

Land Rover 90 Hard / Soft Top Full External Roll Cage

Also his prices are going up by 20% in January as he will then be VAT registered which he isn't at the moment!!
