Good Evening guys and girls. I'm new to this site and have a few questions about my pain in the butt, But loveable L322.
I have changed out the air suspension as to many problems and put springs on it instead. BUT I have got a problem now that the sensor is still detecting the air bags and saying air suspension inactive. Has anybody done this conversion and what electrical side did you do to bypass the sensor. Thanks in advance Wayne.

Springs! I think we have located the problem right there.
Was it homologated to run just on springs without the active suspension?
How's your headlight beams for other oncoming drivers?
Does your insurer know the car is "adapted/Altered", and are they happy?
I know this isn't what you want to hear but changing to springs is more trouble maybe than fixing the problems with it on air.

Iv read your reply to my post about your coils it wont pass an mot with coils either and the 2 places you took it too must be muppets iv a simple hawkeye unit and it reads, programmes and does everything landrover their cheap to buy and a must if ur gonna own one of these.

Now start over refit the air suspension get proper diag for your car a little time on the search on here will point you in the right direction.

In the end it's a simple system
Air bags
Pump
Height sensors
Couple of air valves

You need diag to reset and clear fault codes even after fixing the problem

Good luck, every day is a school day

hi mate

omg , what a great shame and think coil conversions are around £800 plus know there are other items req

couldn't agree more about refitting the air suspension as if I can fix air suspension anyone can, lol

Ha ha something like that just didn't like the air ride whilst it was working. May of been faulty for the last couple of years I had it but springs feel better to me smoother and less problems. Ideally want to do off roading things in future and thought bite the bullet and change the suspension now it failed the MOT rather than later. The diagnostic machine that was used was a Bosch Tec 4500 or something like that. I was told it works on all vehicles just not mine and was told it was due to the ECU may of been changed so getting actual errors was very tricky. When the machines couldn't even find the car vin numbers etc. Have you got a link for this hawks eye reader and will it work on an L322 3.0D TD6 2003 plate

Thanks wayne

You need All Comm III from RSW solutions for your car.

All Comms III does everything on the 2002 to 2005 L322 without any additional needs.

hi mate

ah didn’t realise that , haven't seen a diagnostic that could tell the system it had been converted to coils but know ur very knowledgable , assumed it needed a special module for that

That should be something that comes with the coil kit, plugs in somewhere to disengage the ECU. Bit of a silly trick fitting coils in my opinion.
