Does anyone know how to lower the air suspension an a Disco II without the remote key? (and without putting pin holes in the air lines and waiting until morning)
 
According to rave, pin 12 on socket c0655 (second socket from right facing sockets) on the SLABS ecu (behind glove box) is the only connection associated with the remote to raise and lower the rear suspension. Trouble is I can't find out the expected voltage or polarity 'expected' by the ecu. I would guess at 12v or ground, but some items seem to be 5v involved with BCU (which converts RF remote input at BCU to SLABS ECU input at pin 12).

Pins 7 and 11 on same socket are for audible warning and dash light respectively, but probably could be ignored.

Might give this a go myself, worth noting ignition has to be in position 2 OR engine running with all doors closed to operate.

PS. I take no responsibilty if you fry anything or get warning lights up fiddling :D


Edit: Further reading suggests that the signal from BCU to SLABS ECU is likely to be a PWM signal rather than a voltage on/off type signal, perhaps someone else can confirm this or otherwise.
 
I suspect it is, due to the remote being able to raise and lower it.
Is there an air valve somewhere that could be tripped so that a slow graceful lowering of the back end can occur when the car is switched off. The car should then set the height to normal once the engine is on.
I also assume no responsibility if I fry the car!! ("I have no idea how that could happen, must have been the previous owner" he says to better half)
 
For one off purposes you can remove the pipes (front and rear) from the compressor unit under rear side door or disconnect the ride height sensors and move them up to fool the ecu into lowering the vehicle, with the doors shut and engine running, but no good for a regular way of lowering the suspension to hitch up a trailer.
