hi guy, the disco has been fine over the last few month, but last week i noticed that on start up the yellow SLS lights stayed on for a few seconds after all the other lights went out, i ask the missus if she had seen this , to which the answer was no, then tonight i get a call saying that when she unlocked the car, the drivers side deflated, closely follower by the passenger side. so off i went as rapid responce with the nanocom , plugged it in no faults logged.
So i went into the section where you can input the desired ride heigh, and after a minute of the compressor working , the nanocom said that the desired height (i just entered 200)could not be reached . so i turned the compressor on, and it buzzed away, but nothing happened.
The bags and ride height sensors have been replaced within the last year

i guess the compressor has given up, or could it be somthing eles

Ok, I was just trying everything to get it to pump it back up, i will clear those bits.

Do you think it's the compresser, as I have read that if the bags are full, and the compressor fails, the bags still stay inflated,
 
If there is a problem with the compressor and the SLS is active the bags can deflate while the system wants to inflate as the air supply valves will be opened and the air can leave the system backwards through the compressor's bad seal as the compressor's non return valve in most cases is not perfect.... if you can inflate the bags with nanocom to a desired level do that then set the suspension to coil sprung and if there's no leak it will stay on that level for weeks but will act like on coils without self levelling, at least untill you fix it
 
Cool, it seems a quite common issue with the compressor seals, and looking on the Internet seems a fairly easy repair, have you ever repaired one?
 
Never seen them before, stupid question now, how do they work??

After changing bags and ride height sensor I changed the piston ring, intake filter and dessicant on my compressor and it worked ok for a few months before the compressor stopped working altogether. I can only guess that the motor may have worn out. Rather than splash out £300 on a new compressor I changed to springs. Never have to worry about them.
 
Is it just a coincidence that as soon as she unlocked the car,(3 presses on the fob as she didnt think the first one worked) the air suspension leaked
 
And guess what, get in it this afternoon, drive it off the drive and the suspension goes up, grrrrrr
Any ideas now?

So fitted the seal kit and put it back on, compressor works better than ever before, but the valve block is leaking around one of the unions.
So I ordered a used one from eBay with a warranty, hopefully that will be here Monday, so will fit it and see what happens from there

hi

fully understand how much of a pain it is to find little leaks etc on the air suspension , know mines the later disco but ended up replacing the compressor , air tank , front and middle valve blocks

have u tried using some soapy washing up liquid around all the joints to find the leaks ,

hope u get it resolved to preserve ur sanity ;)
 
Thanks for the reply, yeah it is what it is really, if it needs a new compressor then so be it, hopefully the part will be here tomorrow, so will get it back up on the ramp, and hopefully sort it out :)
 
So managed to get down my mate garage, a couple of days ago, got it up on the ramp, changed the valve block over, and all seems good now, with it holding air
So fingers crossed, and touching all the wood in the house :)
