hi all,
I really need some suggestions. I have a 2003 TD4 Freelander that has had its problems but all were fixable until now. About a month back the car went sluggish so got it tested and it came up with the air mass sensor faulty. after reading lots of different posts on here I wasn't too worried. changed the Air mass closed the bonnet and went to go for a test drive. this is where my problems start. the engine light which wasn't on before now appeared on my dash and the car is now completely gutless. unplugged the air mass and it runs perfect. so took it all off again and went back with what I thought was a faulty air mass. three later and still the same. I have even taken another off another cars and it has the same symptoms where if I put mine on to the other TD4 that runs perfect. I have replaced the old unit but this now does the same. I have had the wiring checked and even had the ECU removed and tested with no faults. the MAP sensor has also been replaced. Its now at a garage and they are going to slide a camera up the exhaust to check the turbo but as it runs fine with the air mass unplugged I cannot see the Turbo being at fault. I swear I can now see grey hairs because of this car but the wife loves it. any suggestions other than burn it would be appreciated.
