Hello all, Just had my air con gassed up and it wass all working great for a few days until the drive belt snapped and almost took the serpentine belt with it! Without the belt on the V-belt pulley is nice and smooth and free. The compressor however turns but has friction, not lumpy of slack then tight etc. just a fair amount of friction all the way round. Was wondering if anyone knew if this was normal for the compressor or has this friction caused the belt to snap? could have just been that the belt was on for a long time? Any thoughts.

Might be the bearings seizing up
