Hi,

I have just purchased a 55 freelander sport (premium supposedly) and I am just upgrading the stereo. I have fitted a Kenwood DDX-4021BT head unit (which is great!) and I am now looking at speakers etc. I was looking to get 4 focal IS165's for the front and rear doors

Focal IS 165, high fidelity speakers easy to integrate in your car.

and a Focal bus25 sub to go under the driver seat.

Amplified compact subwoofers BUS 25 for car audio installations

I was just wondering if the 6.5 (49.9mm depth) speakers will fit in the Freelander doors or if they are too big as I have seen values sizes mentioned and 5.25 seems a common size.

Also if there any power alrady under the driver seat, I have seen a loose cable with I assume should be for the standard sub?

Thanks!

I'm thinking of upgrading my fronts too. I would think the cable under the seat is for the heated seats if you don't have them ? If you do then give them a test with a multi meter ;)

Just as an update The focal speakers are amazing, very clear and were a pretty easy fit. I have recently tried fitting the BUS25 sub and its all now wired in except it doesn't seem to get any power. I have wired the negative to the ground of the car as suggested and run a 3.5mm 10A fused cable to the positive on the battery but it wont power up. Does the chassis supply a 12v negative supply or do I need to run another wire through the car to the battery?

The chassis is negative!! ;) have you run the switch cable to the head unit ? 10 Amp doesn't sound enough to me though??
