After purchasing 4 new drums I realised that they come with only one countersunk fixing hole.
Where as the old one had three.
Is this the normal now only one fixing point.
Yes the wheel will hold everything together once assembled.
Do I get drilled out or not.
Your thoughts would be welcome.
Cheers.

That's interesting. 3 will centre the drum on the hub.
With only 1, I'd want to put it on loose, adjust the brakes to touching and spin a few times to centralise then tighten the wheel nuts to keep in place

Hadn't thought about centreing the drum. And yes it could make all the difference between having good or poor breaks. I'm now considering having the new drums machined for 3 securing holes. Cheers, that's good advice thank you.

They won't be far out, but i expect if not centered then it will be similar to old and worn out drums and a pulsing pedal

Does the drum not fit on a spigot?
I think Phil is correct ref screw to stop drum coming away when wheel removed.

All the heaps I’ve had (not all landrovers) have only ever had one retaining screw.
They can’t go anywhere once slid over the wheel studs. Specially with five.

The screws are to hold the drum on whilst on assembly line the third is so you can use a screw to help ease the drum off as the hub is threaded but the hub isnt but to be honest are not needed...

Only if the hub seals don't leak 🙄

I broke so many drums removing them before I figured it out. At least two.

Anyway:

Undo the screws, by whatever means.

Screw into the threaded hole.

Tighten.

Slack off the adjusters

Tap the drum with a decent hammer all the way around. Repeat until removed. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey.
