hi
so i am going to be replacing all 4 airbags and control arms and a complete bush set i know its going to be costly but i want my car to be as reliable as possible

i am wondering if its worth going for poly bushes? or will it ruin the ride?

Good luck I hope it goes well for you.:D

I'm very impressed by your plan, sadly Mrs Tricky wouldn't allow it but I will be interested to hear your report on the ride once it's all done as this was my plan too. It's great when you have a good car to start with but give it an upgrade to give it another 10 years plus.

Do not go polly bush L322 wear out bushes quite quick as it is, oem and you might want to add new bolts as well as they will be well in there.
There is one make of air bags to avoid i think Dunlop as they clonk, other will remember.

I've just fitted my second Dunlop strut and not a clonk to be heared. The old one taken off my 2005 SC today was a Delphi and apart from the pinhole the rubber was still in good condition. Personally I would trust both brands. Time will tell as the miles pile on. I'll be sure to post any negative experience.

yeah i kinda thought poly bushes would be pointless for a range rover, the engine is very good in the car and its pretty tidy its got a lot of receipts for work i checked the receipts last night and found the air bags have just been replaced before i bought it so i am just going to do everything apart from the air bags. the front left control arm bush is bad hence my reason for replacing it i thought i may aswell just re do the whole lot while im doing the work anyway because the price of the parts is pretty reasonable and the way i was thinking because i plan on keeping the car if i replace all the bushes and arms then i should have a reliable car, the brakes are new aswell so by the time im finished it will have all new suspension brakes and tyres plus im going to service the engine and gearbox aswell

im going to buy a set of these wheel arch flares i think because the car is rust free apart from a bit of bubbling on the rear passenger wheel arch,i like the look of them and i think it will be cheaper to treat the rust myself and fit the flares and have them painted plus if the paint match isnt 100% it wont look terrible

what do you guys think of them?

hiya

must admit I replaced the entire arms when my rear upper bushings failed, also as u say I fitted all new bolts

only took me a few days to get the old bolts out on the D3, lol

must admit fitted a pair of front dunlop air struts on mine and very pleased with them, trying to think of the make that should be avoided

I have seen Dunlop and Delphi mentioned and seam to recall issues with the dunlop clonking over bumps but cant for the life of me remember who it was that fitted them and had the issue.

One thing to remember is when you do the bushes you do not tighten them up fully till the weight of the car is on them.

think you’ve hit the nail on the head my friend , seen many where the arms weren't preloaded before tightening them to the correct torque setting

Also seen as per pic below where the small plastic part is thrown away , if only they knew how important it was, lol
