I am seriously thinking of buying a freelander, 99 percent it will be a 2003 TD4 5 dr. Please can anyone tell me, are thye just a nightmare or have they got a lot better. I can't find another smallish 4x4 that is anywhere near as nice. Shogun pinin is quite cool but not sure if it is too small. Can anyone put my mind at rest?!!!!

Get a Defender!! I had a Shogun Pinin. If its reliability yer want, you'll get it with that. It is a small motor. The back is only really suitable fer kids or dogs. Mistsubishi Pinin is a boring motor to be honist. Its no fun to drive at all. Its permanent 4 wheel drive, but no low ratio. Its crap off road. And if yer not gonna go off-road, then whass the point of a 4x4??

listen to daft . his story is one one of the sucessessss. he had a gaylander cost him a fooking fortune but we saved him before he fell down that slippery slope of self denial that a vehicle can really be that bad. they can be and the gaylander is.. steer clear unless yer want 50,000 megatwats through yer noggin
