I have a 1990 110 CSW and I'm new to Landys, I'm looking for any advice with the following problem. NS Front wheel is making a grinding noise. Grinding noise seems to be worse when travelling slowly, as speed increases noise drops off. Only thing that springs to mind is brakes possibly binding thats my guess because thats the limit of mechanical knowledge.

Any Ideas anyone?

could be something caught in the wheel/brake or something more serious, where about are you maybe someone could pop round and have a look at it for you

Sometimes a small stone or grit drops into the caliper and runs against the disc.lock the steering over and look down beside the disc. Are the pads aok? The metal guard can run on the disc too.I live down along gravel track and remove pebbles often .At worst it could be a wheel bearing

or a CVjoint

I had similar last week, thought the bearings had gone, but it was the mudguard on inside of hub, which had rusted through and was rubbing against disc on my 110 CSW.
If it's bearings, try www.lrseries.com very good prices.

Could just be the sound of a 1990 Deafener!!!!

Hope this helps.

Mine did the exact same grinding noise. then started to bang and turned out the cv joint had bust. Check you swivel housings for oil.
