Hi from rainy Milton Keynes!
So i have got myself a 300tdi 97 90 van, i convinced myself (or was it the Mrs
) that i needed it for work. Well in truth working nights on the railway there certainly are occasions when negotiating some of the railway access points, the 90 comes into its own. Anyhow, i spent all the £ and got a real nice one, its done 9000 miles on a new chassis and a Turner Engineering - Remanufacturer of Land Rover Engines and supplier of Land Rover engine parts reman engine. The body is straight ,seats re upholstered, new cubby box, everything (as far as i am aware) is working just as it should.
To be honest I was considering not going off road with it as it so nice but who am i kidding?? Its gotta be done right? So finding the time yesterday i called up a buddy and arranged to meet up at Whaddon, never been there in a landy before but remembered it from my enduro racing days. Well half hour into the mud ,tracks, crowd i knew i would be spending allot more of my spare time (and £) perusing similar activities
Trouble is i know i need to upgrade the suspension, wheels ,tyres, etc, as my mate had to drag me around quite a bit due to bottoming out.But there is so much choice out here!! i need an idiot guide
What do you guys recommend? How high? full or part kits? what brands?
One other thing, i found Cowleys in Whaddon by chance last week & had a chat with the lady in there about quoting for various possible upgrades, she was helpful enough but asked me to look on the internet and decide what i wanted then she could quote, well fair enough but that brings me right back here. I don't really know what i want, i just know what i want it to do. Not get stuck in every deep puddle & climb steep hills:clap2: Perhaps some of yous guys have used Cowleys and have had similar positive experiences and can recommend there workmanship?
Thanks i advance!
