Hi;

I am about to buy a new Freelander TD4 XS.
I have been discussing the build with the dealer but just want to check with someone on here (I don't trust car salesmen).

Can anyone confirm the following:

1. My current Freelander is Orkney Grey Metallic and I think I may opt for Aintree Green Metallic, which would have a better re-sale in 12 months time?

2. The standard headlights on my current Freelander have L/H Drive switchover however (I am in the Army in Germany and have to have our vehicles Tested last month swicth over headlights are now accepted previously they where not). I have been told that the new standard head lights do not switch over to Left Hand Drive and if I want headlights that switch over I will need to upgrade to Xenon Lights with LED signature?? Or buy a second set of Halogen L/H Drive Lights, is this correct.

3. Are the Halogen LED signature lights which are cheaper do they switch over?

4. One of the options in the new Freelander on the web site builder are electronic seats. My current Freelander had electronic Fwd and Back as standard is this now an extra??

5. One of the options in the new Freelander is Front Parking sensors. My current Freelander came with this as standard, is this now and extra??

Thanks in advance.

Hi

1) in my opinion grey is a better colour but at the end of the day it's your choice.

2) the dealer is right they changed the headlights at 13my and are no longer projector. In addition the xenons give a much better light output.

3) don't believe the signature halogens are projectors so can't be adjusted

4 + 5) yes these features are now options at 13my. Other spec has gone up though to offset the loss of features

Sneaky B****** I understand the specs have gone up but going back to manual adjusted seats where's the class in that!! Front parking sensor was abit of a pain as you had to manually switch it on when driving forward - seemed a bit daft as you had already hit the high curb!!

Dark green was always said to have a lower resale price but since the Evoque came out it advertised other colours. All manufacturers are following this. Boring silver and blank are just that. Other colours are starting to become more popular.

I have a campaign going at the moment for peeps to buy new dark blue Freelander 2's. Will provide more dark blue choice in the used section if I get one. Your welcome to join in by buying a dark blue one.

Have a look on LR's web config tool.

Well the highest resale values went ; Grey back in early 2000's , then it went to Black , Then its been white the last few years (blame Audi tbh) , now we're finding the highest resale is on 'unusual colours' .

If you check out the new colours available on the LR builder, you will see what I mean. If you keep the colour scheme, tasteful and coordinated, inside and out. You will find you get a better resale.

I think the Aintree would be a nice colour, but at the end of the day, pick a colour you like :) Aintree is very much a 'Land Rover Green' kinda colour.
