Hi all, noob questions on additive and oils.. The vehicle in question is a J plate 200 TDi
  • I read somewhere that Discoverys can't use fully synthetic oil in the engine, is this true..? (There is a tag on the dipstick advertising GTX Magnatec...SO it may well already be in the engine..)
  • Molyslip, I'm a big fan of this additive after using it in my previous vehicles and resurrecting one from near death with it...:D Can it be used in the Axles on the Discovery and in the Transfer box..??? I've already used it in the engine and the gear box with no bad effects and a positive improvment in torque.
  • Also any other tips on running a shopping trolley ;) are greatfully recived
Thx all

Hi all just to let you all know, I contacted Molyslip UK, and they confirmed that using there gearbox product would be fine in the differentials and transfer box on a 200 TDi, I would assume that this would be the same for newer models, but do not use with limited slip diffs...(check yourself to be sure)

After adding there is a noticable improvment in smoothness and performance, can get to higher gears more quickly and needs less winding up... This should also improve with time as the additive penetrates more..!!

:D

Will be trying the synthetic soon, will try to contact Land Rover UK first though...
