There seem to be two ways of changing ACE and power steering fluid (I am aware they are the same fluid).

1. suck out as much of the old fluid with a syringe and re-fill

2. loosen the return hose to the reservoir and run engine / turn wheels and whilst doing so pour clean fluid into the reservoir.

Has anyone done an ACE fluid change and power steering fluid change? If so, which is the best way and does a video exist of the process?

The reservoir for both ACE and power steering is one unit...are the two systems using the same physical fluid, or are they divided? My fluid is completely black and clearly needs a change, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it.

reservoir is divided , the steering oil can be changed by fitting a hose on the bleed nipple and letting it run out into a container whilst keeping res topped up, ace you will need to empty res and refill a few times

For ACE: if it was filled with the correct fluid which means the STC50519 it's not supposed to be so bad like the steering fluid at the same age, if it was ATF they might both be ugly, to empty the ACE put container under the valve block, remove filter, remove the tank's cap find a heavy friend and start rocking the car together as hard as you can from side to side and back-front, let it drip then, when no more fluid comes out fit new filter(or refit the old one after you cleaned it with petrol) fill the reservoir, undo the pump's output banjo, remove relay R9 in engine bay an crank it untill fluid comes out at the banjo then retighten, put relay back start the engine rock again the car as hard as you can, the level will drop a bit, top up, go for a ride and make it articulate as much as you can at the highest safe speed, top up again... then watch the level every day untill it stays put cos the system bleeds itself in time.... unless you have tester to bleed with it

Oh! Which is the bleed nipple on the steering oil reservoir?

Is that to get gravity to work it, or the ACE system itself? Does the car need to be on?

Ignition off... it's to move the pistons both ways in the actuators
