Hi All.
Y reg TD5 ES Auto 64k
First post, and like many others I have a problem.
I have the yellow ACE and ABS warning lamps illuminated and no speedo.
(I did find another thread on this but with no conclusion)
ACE fluid level is ok, no obvious leaks.
A bit of background.
For a considerable period I had the three amigos (plus friends).
Some weeks back I decided to sort the problem.
Nanocom told me I had an Earth Reference Fault.
I removed and cleaned the two earth points behind the headlamp and also checked and tightened the earth point in the passenger footwell.
This cured the amigos problem but I did notice the floor was wet. Inspection showed I had a leak at the top of the A pillar on the gutter. I drove the car for a while until I found I had a leaking FPR so the car stood until had I time to seal the water leak and fix the FPR leak.
I moved the car one day and I had a dash full of lamps, that went out leaving the ACE and ABS lamps on. Switching the ignition off cleared this but obviously something was going wrong as I have never had this fault before.
FPR was eventually fixed after a number of weeks and a road test showed everything seeming ok.
Went on a journey yesterday and if I went over a decent bump, occasionally I got a dash full of lights and a dead speedo, the speedo came back and the lamps went out.
This all took a second or so.
A couple of times the lamps went out leaving just the ACE and ABS lamps illuminated but these cleared shortly afterwards.
Today I ran a Nanocom test and it showed the following faults.
Engine.
20,4 EGR Valve Stuck open (this is on going and intermittent)
22,1 Road speed missing(logged)
ACE
01-03 Lower Accelerometer Signal Not Changing.
There were no faults logged in the SLABS
I then cleared the faults.
Where i had been messing about I re checked the earth's behind the headlamps.
Took off and re tightened the earth in the passenger footwell.
Checked the connectors going into the various ECU's under the dash.
Everything looked clean and dry.
Removed and checked the connector for corrosion on the sensor under the Drivers seat
Ditto the connector for the pressure sensor on the ACE unit.
Have not checked for corrosion the sensor above the rear mirror, which may have got wet due to the leak?
Took the car for a drive, gave it a bump over the speed humps same thing happened as before.
Hit the brakes on some gravel and the ABS light came on with the ACE light and then went out.
As I drove home things got worse with all the lamps illuminating and the speedo stopping on every little bump until eventually the ACE and ABS lamps stayed on and the Speedo stopped working.
Back on the Nanocom and I now have the following.
03-01 Electrical Fault in Pressure control Valve circuit. This fault will not clear.
22,1 Road Speed Missing (Logged)
26,1 Road Speed Missing (Current)
Both of the last two faults could be cleared.
Trying to check the SLABS I now get an "Unable to communicated with the ECU" Message. This persists after disconnecting the battery.
Turning the ignition on, all lamps illuminate and extinguish except the ABS. The ACE lamps goes out but after about a second comes back on again.
Trying to actuate any of the relays, control valves through the "Outputs" on the Nano does bot seem to work.
Didn't make a note of the "Inputs".
My Beloved has been playing up of late and sorely trying my patience, so, before I go out and buy a gallon of petrol and a box of matches I though I would ask to see if anyone has the answer to all of my woes!
Thanks.
