So have been doing some research for a while, This 1 has me at the moment.

So the question is, looking in Rave electrical. Still looking more and more:)
The ABS gives/has a connection to the engine ECU via the BECM. What is this signal used for within the engine ECU if any?
GEMS V8, Not sure if the Diesel has the same connection.

Is it a speed sensor signal of some sort? or/and is that just passed to the EAS?
Does it affect the gearbox ECU for shift points (speed) Or is it just passed onto the instrument cluster for speed?
Are the signals from the VSS in the gearbox used for the autobox?

The real question is, If there was no signal from the ABS how would it affect the other ECUs specifically the engine and autobox?

Just thought I would ask as a shortcut:D.

Thanks and appreciate its not really in the normal range of questions.

ABS sensors are used for speed measurement. I have no idea about the V8, but if the signal goes to the engine ECU on the diesel, I would expect it to be to do with cruise control. A drop in road speed from the selected speed requires more throttle which could be calculated from the road speed signal from the ABS ECU.

Yes it does have some sort of connection to the CC but trying to find out if it would mess up the engine and autobox ECUs normal function if it wasnt there.

Rave is great, but sometimes the wire goes in here does its magic and comes out here:confused:.

Again, on the diesel, there is a connection from the auto box ECU to the engine ECU that allows the auto ECU to call for a torque reduction on shifts, I don't know if the same apples to the V8. I do not know of any communication from the Engine ECU to the auto ECU that could affect shifts. CC does not as far as I know have any effect on the auto box except the normal responses to more throttle so if the CC is not there and cannot control the throttle, it should have no effect but I could be wrong.

All interlinked.

The V8 has the torque reduction to so that’s the same. But that’s between the 2 of them and calculated so how, I assume the VSS in the auto box would also have a say in it to.

If the signal from the ABS is not used for any engine or auto box function that’s great, this is the biggest problem.
