From your other posts I see you have a 2.4 Puma. I have wiring diagrams for the 2.2 which has differences to the 2.4, (don't have diags for 2.4). The 2.2 has an earth point for the instrument panel, located as in the attachment. Might be the same location on yours, and might have been disturbed when the transfer box was worked on. Long shot but worth a look? Also there are several earths which are fastened to the drivers side of the transfer box, were these all refitted?
