Should the ABS warning light 'light up' when ignition first on and then go out?

Should light up then go out when you go faster than 5 miles an hour forward or reverse. Otherwise it should stay lit. If it dont light up then it will fail an MOT if the examiner knows your vehicle is fitted with ABS.
