Hi guys and gals
I've not posted here before but I do look in now and again.
The reason for todays post is in conection with TD5 abs and traction lights.
As you are aware there are many posts on the subject as to assorted fixes, some of which are easy and straight forward and some not so.
I work on these vehicles for a living so please hear me out.
This fault has cropped up on two different cars where the three lights of dread appear only to temporaraly reset then on they come again despite spending untold sums of beer tokens. Ok this much we all know.
Now before you finally shell out all the rent try this
In the front hubs (one each side) is the drive shaft/constant velocity joint, guide bearing.
This is a thin roller bearing about 40mmx15mmx3mm and is located inside the bearing carrier/stub axle.
On both of my cases this bearing had broken up (o/s/f) allowing the shaft to move off line and causing the ABS fault light to illuminate
Hey £6.00 fix plus 20hours trying to find the fault:doh:
