hi all, have had some work done on P38, had abs brake pump changed as the switch was knackered, so changed hole unit, the garage have done some tests on sensors, and it comes back to a fault with the abs ecu. i have seen 2 different types, with different part numbers.

067176 446 0440740 as fitted to mine- also

446 0440510

any ideas wether they will be same unit or if they changed to different type when they changed in 2000. the price difference on ebay is massive. £15- £280 quid, i need to get the right one, any help please.

The whole ABS pump doesn't have to be changed because the switch is knackered. Get your old pump back. stick the two wires going to the pump (as opposed to the 5 in the connector to the pressure switch.) If your pump runs then the problem is just the switch.

Meant to mention in my last that I was being told to get a new ECU ....that's when I went back to basics.
Check out recent threads on the ABS before you spend serious money.
