Hi all,

I've got these air rails fitted to my Carbed 3.5 V8
All was fine until one of the pipes got a hole in it and started blowing. I've flared a new pipe and replaced it but to be honest it's a struggle with the gear I have to flare a pipe that large correctly and I'm getting a bit of blowby.
Question is. Is the air rail worth keeping in light of trying to keep the vehicle original?
Or is it really not worth the hassle ? I've noticed most people remove it and blank with grub screws.
I must admit it's quite a noisy system. Did all V8s of that era have them fitted or is it a bit more of a rarity? I'm not a rivet counter but like originality.

RR 'Detoxed' engines were fitted with the Pulsair system which allows small quantities of air into the exhaust stream to reduce emissions. A common misconception is that this is a crude device to dilute the exhaust gas - the engine draws a small volume of exhaust and air to be reburnt and slightly cool the charge to reduce NOx and unburnt hydrocarbons.

Thanks!
I never thought I would have a chance of buying one of those pipes let alone finding someone who stocks them.
It has been purchased :clap2:

By the way if you like originality then fine but EGR is the work of the devil and is bad for anything apart from emissions.

Yeah I must admit I do like keeping my vehicles as they left the factory (parts not quite fitted right, bolts not fully done up. You know the usuall)

If it was totally broken and leaking everywhere I prob would remove it. It does seem to be just the one pipe leaking though.
