right my old 90 was stolen last may, insurance paid out and i thought i would never see it again.
just before christmas i recieved a phone call from the old bill telling me they had recovered it and could i go and view the vehicle.

My 90 was almost the same as when it was stolen apart from they had removed the rear side panels with windows and replaced them with van side panels, changed the roof and it had a very dodgy looking spray job.

so i have been on to the insurance about buying it back, who finally got back to me today and told me they were not willing to sell it to me or anyone due to the fact it had the said changes to the vehicle and they are going to crush it:eek:

my question is, is this normal procedure or is there anything i can do?

I'd phone you're insurance company and ask to speak to a supervisor or manager and explain the situation and ask if there is any chance of you buying it back off them, tell em it's got great sentimental value etc etc.

You may stand a better chance if you agree not to put it back on the road and strip it for spares... Which is basically what would happen... it'd go to auction as a class A or B write off.. not to be returned to road use.

Oh! poor landy:Cry:

hope you can talk them into letting you have it back mate,
it's a shame a great little 90 like that would meet a nasty end like a crusher:screaming_bug_eye_f:doh:

an you were hoping to do it up as your sunday drive too:rolly:
