just to say ty to those of you that helped with my fan belt/waterpump issue but the reason it all started is the ac compressor siezed next question is is that a job a numpty like me could tackle?it is bypassed at the moment and i have been given a quote of 700-800 pounds ? for replacement

For that sort of cash, I'd take a risk on a 2nd hand compressor from a breakers, change the reciever/ dryer and have the a/c system charged by a pro.

iv got one you can have?.........not sure on condition but its taking up space, what was the age/engine of your truck?

Have to agree none of it is too difficult and as suggested make sure you ised a cerified pro to commission and charge it

Go for the second hand pump. Fit it and then take it down to Kwik Fit to regas the system. If it doesn't work they don't charge you. I used them as my free of charge fault finders during the summer. WHen I finally got everything working I paid my 50 quid and was happy.

okay, well i think my unit came off a late v8 so im not sure if they are different or not? tell u what i'll dig it out and take a few picks see if its the same or not. im jst the other side of milton keynes from u

this will freak you out but what do you mean by reciever and dryer?

It's a little can with a couple of tubes and some wires way down below the nearside headlight, or if you do not have fog lights you can see it from underneath. Probably won't need to touch it.
