Hi All,

I've got the standard issue with my rear wiper - its stopped working. I've checked the fuse and the connection at the boot hinge both OK. I've also had the rear wiper motor off and in bits. I did find a lot of rusty grease which I removed, gave it a good clean, a copious helping of WD40, rebuilt and replaced.

Still nothing! No water from anywhere, no noise of the pump trying to work, no wiper action! After playing around, but before taking the motor off for cleaning, it did mange to get the wiper half way down before giving up.

Any ideas please guys? I'm stumped!

Sorry, I forgot to say that I've searched this forum but couldn't find an answer.

The front and head light wipers and washers are all working fine.

How can I check the power to the motor (sorry, I'm new to this mechanical/electrical stuff!)
 
if you havnt got a multi meter to check for power ,you could hotwire it to see if it is working or failed
 
Pump is controlled through the Wiper Motor looking at the schematic...if the motor is goosed, the pump won't pump...I have the same problem just haven't got round to it yet!!

My be t is the wiring etc is fine just the motor unit is fecked....

What an extremely helpful comment, old Range rovers did not have the same system so you could not have had "exactly this problem"
I seem to recall a similar stupid comment from you on another thread.

By old i mean old as in i sold the death-trap about 12 months ago.

I seem to recall another stupid comment also from you on another thread earlier today. But as they say; a leopard never changes its spots.
 
Ignore him Datatek, he is obviously from the local nut house and is begging for attention as his nurse has left for the weekend so there is no one there to wipe his chin...
