Hi.

I've just joined (thought it sensible) because I'm picking up my very first Land rover tomorrow ! I'm too excited. It's an old (1980) Series III 109 Station Wagon with the old petrol taken out and an old diesel 2286cc put in ! It's a ghastly cream colour and it's got a spare wheel on the bonet ! How cool is that. Oh yes, I'm in heaven, wanted one for like ages n ages. Just need to learn to drive the monster now.

Sounds very much like my first Land Rover. I had loads of fun with it.

Enjoy!

Cheers

Newton's law - for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.

Must explain the purchase of your current freelander :D

Where it belongs, Mate :)

I promise you you'll have lots of fun with it. They're dead easy to drive once you get out of the bad habit of dry-steering when you're trying to do a 3 point turn. soon you'll stop referring to "it" and start referring to "her", then you'll give her a name. Then you'll sell your "normal" car coz it never gets used. Then you'll buy another one for spares, and your neighbours will have a new name for you ;)

LOL at neighbours comment ! We recently moved into a quiet little cul-de-sac and my old car (I loved her) died. So when mhy wife said 'you can have any car you like' I thought of a defender110. Couldn't quite afford the ones seen recently (or wait for one to turn up) so a desert coloured 109 station wagon now fills the driveway and I've already managed to envelope one of the 'timmid' neighbours with a film of blue smoke ! LOL Oh, and the noise of the 2.3 Diesel fills the air with grungesome attitude ! I think our neighbours have already given us a new name LOL.

Yeah but their kids will all be asking for rides in it ;)

:D Ain't that the truth. My kids play burger vans in mine which really raises the tone for our snotty neighbours. :middlefingerraisedsmilie: Last time we went camping in the Cotswolds I had to give all the kids rides around the campsite....

Kids and Land Rovers go together. And some of us never grow up :p
