Hi guys, thought I better get myself signed up on here as I am probably going to need your guys help and knowledge sooner or later.
I have been over on the Freel2 forum for a number of years having owned 3 FL2's and 3FL1's before that and some series Landies many years before that! Currently got an SD4 GS Auto for my work car, this one spends a lot of time on tracks and fields with my work as an agronomist (crop doctor!) down in Cornwall. AT tyres a must!
Anyway to help out with secondary horse trailer towing duties we have just bought a 2003 Disco TD5 ES auto. Having looked at about 10 of verying degrees of shedness or expensiveness. I stumbled across one which is pretty much mint for £4.5K- less 115K with a full service history, previous owner spent over £8K in 4 years with garage bills at a local 4x4 specialist:confused:. Chassis is one of the better ones - not perfect but a bit of TLC with the waxoil gun should give it years of life.

1st job needs doing is A/C is not working, apparently the pulley came loose on the compressor - clutch fault so the garage put a spacer in to disengage the clutch. 1st question should I just replace the compressor due to possible bearing problem? or is a new clutch mech a possibility? There are second hand compressors on tatbay for around £80 or new ones for £3-400 ish. What's my best option? Compressor replacement looks simple enough on the face of it.
