Hi All

Ok so as I previously posted I have recently bought a 3.9 V8 Range Rover as a little summer project. All was fine but i wanted to do the basics so I replaced the oil, replaced the plugs and leads and put a new battery on her. After doing all of this she just wont fire, she is turning fine but there is no life. I have found an issue and to be honest can find no reference to it at all in the Paynes manual....... On the engine is the Plenum Chamber which connects to the air filter, there are flames coming out of here when she is being turned over and i can find no reason why this is happening, can anybody help please?

Thanks

Ant

Check you have put the leads on in the right order. It sounds like there is a significant misfire causing blow back through the plenum. This has been known to destroy airflow meters. You say you did plugs and leads, assuming you have a dizzy did you check/replace the rotor arm?

Check static ignition timing and it might also be worth doing a compression test to see if there are any sticky valves.
