I didn't expect a lot for a camera costing less then a tenner (the difference was P&P) but actually it's quite good for what it is.
It's HD and produces a reasonable picture on the computer, a little jerky as it saves each section probably due to the crap SD card I'm using but other than that no problems. Good wide view of the road ahead.
The only real downside is that it's difficult to charge the battery as it switches on and starts recording automatically as soon as it's supplied with power, you can halt recording but you can't switch it off so charging takes for ever. Not a big problem as the battery is not really needed.
It auto starts recording when the ignition is switched on if the cig lighter switches with the ignition and also stops and switches off automatically when the ignition is switched off.
Wouldn't suit camera buffs but quite good enough for me:D

Fun, I don't make a habit of having accidents. However it will be running when I visit the crash for cash capital of the world next month. (UK):)
Just for the record, I wasn't being facetious, just curious. I've heard that they are very popular in Russia for reasons of documenting guilt or innocence in traffic dust-ups.

hmm... I bought exactly that same camera but from a different seller and just had endless problems with it. After a week it went back.
I found that although it had power it wouldn't always switch on, and the battery was less than useless which is something the seller confirmed when I complained about it, and so the date/time stamp was never accurate - it always showed 00:00:00 01/01/1999 (or whatever year, just not the current one) so it wasn't fit for purpose.

That's the very same camera that caught this for me when I wrote my Hyundai Santa Fe off :(

I leave mine on motion detect and it starts when I set off and stops when I park up:)

Sadly these things are fast becoming a motoring must have, only a matter of time before I fit one.
Have a non recording camera I use on the motorhome for seeing when ****s park or drive so close the mirrors dont show them.
Reckon a dash mount for the landy and the motorhome is a good idea

hi,i bought a couple off ebay, they worked fine for a few days then all the funcions went into meltdown, they were under a tenner,so wtf, after some research I settled for a camera supplied by Halfords called nextbase, they supply the 202 302 and 402, igot a 302 deluxe front and rear(just in case).

Nextbase is the proper job but Nik's film is pretty reasonable for a tenner. You can clearly hear the screams!

Like the idea I must say but I've always managed to dodge anything that's come my way.

I watched the clip on utube, damn scary, glad all were safe,i don't go round looking for trouble, but you never know,i bought the second camera off ebay forĀ£48,like half price, wished I bought the first one off ebay now:frown:

That is on a sunny day, so you can see the clarity and the reg plates clearly. It's on all the time the car is on and does a 5 min loop record to SD card. So when something happens (like a knob throwing a bottle out of a car) you can just take the card out and upload that particular footage.

the blow out was scary glad no one was hurt. throwing a bottle out going along they should be fined and points thats totally dodgy, or throwing anything out is not on, doesnt bare thinking about what could have happend:eek:

You have to be careful of the law now, your not allowed (soon) to stick anything on the screen, this includes things like cameras, sat navs, there getting rid of paper road tax soon anyway, (I think rear view mirrors are exempt) forget when the law comes in though, EEC for you, Oh, and vacuum cleaners will have a limited wattage as well

How long before the EEC says "you can't have passengers in the seats because you use more fuel and it obscures the view from the windows"????? :)
Chuffin' EEC

It is already a MOT fail to have anything obstructing your view within the sweep area of the windscreen - so you have to remove it for about an hour once every year! :D
