My F150 overdrive light just started flashing. I can drive several miles
then for about 1/2 second it feels and sounds like I ran over a rumble
strip and the light started flashing. I can shut the engine off and
restart and it's ok again for several miles. What could cause this?

You didn't say if you'd put a scan tool on it, but if not do that
first adn get the codes. If they are posted (codes) you are much more
likely to get a useful response.

Otherwise... <g> Check the fluid level, better yet, have the thing
flushed. If flushed, have the filter replaced as well.
