iv recently bought 2 discos one v8 with engine removed its stunning with no rot or welding p reg engine was removed to go in a triump the lad was saying, i want to save this one from the scrap yard, also my freind has a full rotten disco n reg turbo diesel but its in the back of a unit and has been there 3 years the engine still runs mint apparently im unsure but i think its would be a 300tdi, correct me if im wrong though.....

can i drop the engine straight onto the v8 box both manual by the way and will it mount as some one said the 300tdi and v8 engine mounting points are different

please help me out thanks

cut the mounts off the 300 and replace. 300 boxes are plentiful and easy enough to source.
if it's as good as you say, you'll end up with a nice motor with a little bit of effort.

doh! you've already got a box!

Why not find a v8 engine and drop that in the v8 disco then you wouldn't have to fanny around just to end up driving a dirty dergly diseaseal!

Rip the rotten body off the diesel cara d remove its engine loom, mint up the engine, box and chassis, make it all sexualised, do all the jobs that are a PITA when the body is on, and then lift the body off the v8, swap in the tdi loom etc and drop it on the chassis all ready to go.

Now that's a top job.
