I'm having a bit of a problem diagnosing some trouble my pickup has been
giving me, and hope someone brilliant can help. It's a '96 C1500, with a
fuel injected V-6.It went beserk one day while doing about 50mph, in
cruise(dropped into low, tach went crazy, etc). There was a strange "dull
howling" noise coming from under(I suspected tranny probs at first) I had
just put a new fuel pump in about 3 months before. Upon advise, I replaced
the throttle position sensor, fuel filter, & fuel pump relay, but it still
won't run. Am getting fuel in the line prior to the throttle body, but not
sure how much pressure, or if enough. Could I have throttle/injector probs,
or should I suspect the new fuel pump was faulty? Before I go to the
lengths of removing my truck bed again and pulling the pump to test it, is
there something else I can check? Any suggestions?
