Hi All,

Sorry to trouble on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I have been following the excellent instructions about changing the seals in the FIP. All good so far except........

It is idling very roughly. Therefore I assume the quantity adjust housing part is not properly aligned. I was very careful and made three clean sharp marks with a chisel. But from watching a video a tiny movement makes a difference.

So two things:

Have I done something else wrong?

Or

If it is misaligned anybody any suggestions for the best direction to realign it. Laugh to myself thinking that means bash it with a piece of wood and a hammer.......

Hopefully a video of starting is here:

I have driven it around the block and runs and pulls as well as a diesel does. Just at idle very rough.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Yes just needs moving slightly. Slacken the bolts slightly and give it a gentle tap with the engine running with a bit of wood. The amount it needs to move will be tiny.

Make sure someone is in the driver's seat ready to turn the ignition off. Get it wrong and it'll stall or rev its nuts off. Mine needed a good run to settle down too.
