I’ve got a 93 defender 90 cab with tdi300 engine. Horn sounding all the time, changed the indicator unit on the steering wheel, changed the horn. This vehicle has a bonet alarm switch and I’ve ordered a new one.my question is. What does this switch do and how does it work, I’ve had the vehicle over 10 years and don’t recall this unit doing anything.

And what does this bonet alarm switch lead attach to ? The switch is mounted on the fire wall and is closed by the bonet when it’s shut.

It is an alarm switch that sets off the alarm if the bonnet is opened while car is locked and alarm set, it is often the cause of spurious alarms if the switch is slightly bent to one side, ensure it is straight before closing bonnet.
