hi, (i'm new to Landy zone!!)

My landy 90 TD went bang last week, thermostat gave up, over heated, blew the head gasket, but on going to repair it, we found it had also cracked all four pistons!!!!!!!! Dont ask how i did that one!! The best thing is, it still drives!!!

But anyway, have been quote silly prices for 200 tdi's, which is what i was concidering anyway as the TD's are pretty crap, but as i have been quoted silly prices i have decided to put a isuzu trooper engine in it. This is where i need help. I have read previous post's on here which have been useful, but was just wondering if anyone had anymore info/experiances?? I was thinking of about a 2.8 TD?? I don't really need the speed, more the torque. I use it as a daily driver, but also for towing a horse trailer, rolling and harrow my feild + anything else i get roped into! I have been told these engines are pretty powerful but a bit thirsty? Where do i get one from??

I would be eternally greatful if anyone could help!!!!!:)

aye it must be a crap engine. it still drives with 4 cracked pistons.

get another 200 tdi in it. you know it makes sense.
(easier to fit too).

It was a crap engine - it was a Turbo diesel!!!!! Still going though, unitl i can find one. Would i need any converted to change it to a 200tdi? that is what i have always prefered, but it's just money!!! Any idea where i can get one from??!!

Where can i get this Daihatsu engine from then? & how much?

stoke on trent a mate of mine works on daihatsu four tracks i would have to find out how much it is for you

That would be worth knowing if you could, thanks very much. Still in two minds what to do but keeping my options open!:) :)

just give him a bell for a 2.8 non turbo 400 notes but if you wont all singing all dance hes got one in a p reg four track you can drive it round to test it out if you wont he will sell that for 1500 notes 2700 if you wont the hole car

the daihatsu engine is as strong as fook and more powerful than the isuzu which is equally as strong.you cab get a conversion plate for both engines easy enough but personally i would go with the daihatsu ;)

Thanks very much for all the info, much appreciated, will have a think!!
