Hi

i have just bought a 90 with 3.5V8 su carb version with lpg conversion but it does not run on petrol very well missfires and no accelleratrion im very new to gas vehicles having never owned one,can any one point me in the right direction of things to start checking as it runs perfect on the gas

Dont put petrol in it, run it on gas.

Last two i have looked at start on gas with no problems, and its cheaper.
 
All gas conversions start on petrol anyway, and your coment was not very useful as i want to go of road with vehicle and gas has less power so i want to use the petrol.

People go offroading with 2.25 petrol and diesel non turbo engines just fine, the extra power won't mean jack **** chap. Boydy made a perfectly fine and justified comment.

Since when has gas given less power than petrol?????
having driven loads of converted BMW's I think yer talkin pish as there is no discernable difference in power but may i suggest you look at the carb setup :rolleyes:
 
Ok thanks for your comments and i will use another web forum as the very few of you who have commented have no clue and as i am a fully qualified mechanic and know what i am talking about. but was looking for advise on gas systems which i have not had the pleasure of dealing with as of yet.

Surely you was looking for advice on settin up the carb as its running poorly on petrol!!!
My advice would be disconnect the gas and set it up properly running on petrol then worry about the gas.
Being a fully qualified mechanic then it shouldnt take brains to work out that much should it?? or are you indeed not what you claim to be and just anothe ridiot who cant take a bit of banter or advice:rolleyes:
 
Ok i genuinely wanted a decent answer. didnt relise this was full of people who all have a smart comment to add.
Thanks for the advise and all i wanted was to know was if someone had the same problem and could offer a quick answer i know the steps to take but was looking for a shortcut as i am at home and didnt want to go out messing around for ages. Banter is good but just also cant be arsed with time wasters there is a difference :)
