Ok so i purchased these the other day to treat my 90 for xmas...

Land rover defender 90 door bars and tub bars aluminium red oxide | eBay

Only thing is that ive noticed now they have arrived is that the angle of the bars is the same on all.....

also they are a little short....

/======\ /================\ is how they are if sat together but it seems they are a little daft...

all someone has done is got some box section, slap a couple angles each end and holes in the front and red oxide it.... I wouldnt recommend these but I'm going to have to add end plates as it doesnt come with any and also may have to cut the end off and add some box section in.....

can't find any decent pics of fitted box sliders for tub and door...

They'll look spot on once you've figured it out, until then I think you should give me them to fit on my Landy :)

They are too short. Seem that in total they are 5 inch too small per pair... Im going to send them back in think.

How where you expecting them to look and fit together? When ever I've seen them fitted that's how they looked.

I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to go right to the very end of the tub, that would look silly

They shouldn't go to the very end of the tub, a couple inch in really... these are about 6 inch shorter than the tub and look daft, the door ones are the same.

Get them sent back, the ones in the link I posted look like they come nearly to the corner capping jobber that the lights attach to

I prefer the look of your ones, to the ones linked. And don't see why they'd perform differently to each other.
Could just make some yourself to exact spec you want, will just be standard size box with some holes drilled in it! :)

And if you add end plates they'll retain mud. Least if there isn't any you can squirt the pressure washer up in there! :D

They are going back and luckily I have a day off Saturday as I put annual leave it woop woop!! I've rang a steel supplier and they have just over what I need for just under 20 pound including vat. The ones in the pic are the ones off the eBay listing. I just need to either get a metal cutting blade for my chopsaw or find someone to angle these for me.
I'll let you know how I get on.

They should sit like this /========//========\ SO that the one on the door overlaps the one on the tub. with about 5 to 10 mm gap between the 2. In your pics the tub one is right door one needs turning over. But then the front leading edge would be facing the wrong direction.

Will find a pic and post it in a mo.

This is what you should have. Except these have been cut square where they meet.

Exactly. I am going to make my own this weekend if I get time. I am unsure weather or not to cut them square where they meet or angle them together.

Started making my own last night. Although I don't have a metal blade for the chopsaw I have done the angles with a grinder. A bit shoddy but it'll do. Once I've finished them I'll post a pic
