Hi all - further to my previous post, ive been looking at my heater controls and i have a query!!
there two levers on the right of the dash, one is marked blue to red and operates a lever on the top of the heater box under the bonnet, the second (which i have just found wasnt working because the threads stripped on the lever where the cable clamps) operates the flaps at knee level to direct the air up or up and down BUT - ive always known there is a spare cable coming from the dash into the engine which isnt connected to anything and there is another flap on the engine side of the heater box which doesnt have anything connected to it!
I guess the two should be connected but i cant find what operates this cable from in the cab - Help anyone?

thanks

steve

There is another cable connected to the bottom of the fan switch on the left (I only found this out at weekend as had dash out to correct a broken earth wire running to the heated rear window relay)
Ihave no idea where it goes or wot it does but got a funny feelin im bout to find out as fan needs replacing!!!

Thanks - i think looking in the Haynes, that this cable when connected to the flap on the side of the box shuts off the outside air supply and heater works on recirc - is it easy to get at the back of the lever as my cable appears disconnected! many thanks steve

The lever on the left of the steering wheel is indeed connected to a flap between heater box and the dash in the bulkhead an stops the airflow from the whole heater unit, when the lever is at the bottom the fan is in full flow an the flap is fully open, with the lever at the top the fan is off and the flap closed but it dunt recirculate or nuffink.
