Hi guys - looking for help on thi also. My Tver 5.0 defender v8 is running an R380 and doing ok, but the clutch is slipping Under power. Auto conversion or paddle clutch is what I am thinking? But which auto box? How hard are they to fit? wiring and kick down? Are they hard to set up? keep the lt230 or not? Can fabricate and modify tunnel etc, but thinking about how it could be done DIY. Has anybody done it? Want to push up power so something needs to be done. Cant afford the thousands for an Ashcroft conversion. Any thoughts guy?

gm th400 or its newer overdrive version 4l80e, very strong and take big power and conversion adapters to fit virtually and transfer box are available

What engine is it? Depending on just how much power we're talking about... a four-speed ZF would probably do the job fine.

its a 5.0 rover V8 - stage 3 heads - H404 cam shaft - >300BHP. ZF box is what i was thinking - but can i just fit them or do they require wiring into anything for ratio and gear change etc? What is the signal for kick down etc??

there are several zf 4hp 22 autos if you uised the one out of disco 1 or rrc it is mechanically govenor controlled and kick down is a cable connected to lever on throttle spindle ,td5 uses an ecu and no cable kick down both fit the same and task either lt2390 or borg warner transfer box ,the stronger zf 4hp 24 can be modified to mechanical govering instead of ecu but requires a donor box and full strip down

Great, so they are Alexandra alone sO to
Speak?? And me mechanical in their control. What sort of torque/power can they take???
