Hi All, just been taking tub and seat box from my 80" project to inspect chassis - most of which fell on the floor! Re-discovered a single screen that came with it years back. Looks like its made from an ordinary screen, has hinges both sides, my question is Why? Any ideas?

No strange extra brackets or fixings anywhere? Maybe someone made it for a different thing like a tractor or something and it just found its way into the landy? Would it be worth a phonecall to someone at dunsfold?

Nothing to suggest it was ever fitted to this vehicle. How do you contact Dunsfold? have another query for them with my 127" leaf sprung chassis (see previous post).

Could it have some kind of rod or bar going across from the passenger side hinge mount point to the hinge mount point on the single screen? Then - if it were for a piece of equipment it wouldn't get in the way but nore would the Land Rover need modifying?

Just thinking how i would do it!

Looks like you have a good project there :)

Thanx Mike, all sorts of possibilities, that one does seem reasonable. Yes it is a project and a half, still considering if the chassis is salvageable or not!

I'd personally go with a new galvanised one if working from the chassis up - but that depends greatly on budget and how original you want it to be! My reasoning being that while you have it stripped down that much you might as well rebuild it on a 100% sturdy sound base, rather than a patched old base which may cause problems in the future.
